UrbanTrans North America is a woman owned and operated transportation consulting firm with offices in Atlanta, Denver, Los Angeles, and Toronto. We specialize in implementing commuting programs in communities across North America. Our clients know us as experts in commute and travel behavior change (also called transportation demand management, or TDM).

Job Overview

A typical day will be anything but typical. But it will likely involve collaborating with our smart and talented teammates who are leading up key programs and projects in Los Angeles, Toronto, Denver, Atlanta, and beyond. This role will collaborate closely with our program managers and programs staff to orchestrate and execute marketing strategies that achieve key outreach and behavior change outcomes. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and leading from start to finish the execution of marketing projects and campaigns, including identifying and understanding target audiences, designing customer journeys, setting clear objectives, and planning and executing marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrating the ability to execute a variety of marketing strategies effectively.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the brand for assigned programs and projects, particularly through brand management and full ownership of Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA&QC) for all marketing and communications deliverables.
  • Actively participating in project team meetings and marketing meetings, helping foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Engage and manage other marketing specialists as well as external vendors, contractors, and partner agencies for specialized marketing services when necessary.
  • Establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with clients, including understanding needs, expectations, and challenges, and ensuring they feel valued, understood, and supported.
  • Regularly communicating with clients through meetings, reports, and updates.

Actively engaging in continuous learning and integrating this knowledge into projects, including an understanding of emerging tools and techniques in the marketing field as they apply to UrbanTrans’ work. This involves attending trainings, workshops, and industry conferences as well as self-guided learning.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, digital media, psychology, sociology or other related field; and
  • Five or more years of full-time professional experience in a marketing or communications role.

Experience working for an agency, consulting firm, or similar multi-client environment is preferred.

    • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal
    • Experience creating messages for different audiences and varying mediums, including blogs, emails, press releases, websites, SMS, and more
    • Experience with coordinating and managing content and editorial calendars for use with social media, websites, email marketing, and other content distribution methods
    • Experience with coordinating public relations and media outreach for local and regional publications
  • Collaborating with People: You thrive when working with others and don’t hesitate to pitch in or step up as a leader when called on. You have:
    • Experience contributing to teams of all sizes
    • Experience working with a team of contractors and vendors
    • Experience with building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Crunching Numbers: You’re not intimidated by data or spreadsheets. You have:
    • Experience monitoring and reporting on marketing analytics
    • Knowledge of statistics and data analysis
    • Experience with A/B testing and multivariate experiments to optimize for the best outcomes (e.g., testing subject lines, call-to-actions, etc.)
  • Managing Projects: Even if you have a lot on your plate, you have a good process in place to get work done. You have:
    • Strong skills in organizing, prioritizing, and producing several marketing tasks concurrently
    • Experience with building timelines and budgets and leading a team
    • Demonstrated quality control and quality assurance through project deliverables
  • Working with Tools: You have in-depth knowledge of and experience with varying software, including:
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
    • CMS websites (e.g., WordPress, Wix, etc.)
    • CRMs or contact database (e.g., Hubspot, Salesforce, Mailchimp, etc.)
    • Project management software to stay organized and productive(e.g., Asana, Wrike, Basecamp, etc.)
    • Automated marketing tools and concepts (e.g., Autopilot, Mailchimp, etc.)
    • Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Marketing analytics platforms and dashboards (e.g., Google Analytics or similar)
Other Desired Qualities
  • Knowledgeable (or highly curious) about behavior change, sustainability, transportation, TDM, city planning, community development, economic development, or related
  • Desire to positively affect the community, region, and environment
