Senior Program Specialist
Elise joins our team after successful stints at both World Wildlife Fund (WWF) UK and WWF Canada. Our project portfolio instantly tapped into her direct experience managing partnerships with some of WWF’s biggest partners on a wide range of issues including sustainable palm oil, reducing greenhouse gas emissions from air travel, and protecting penguins. All in a good days’ work right?
Like the rest of us, she has a passion for sustainable transportation and it’s not unusual for her dinner table conversations to revolve around the latest Toronto transit news. As a self-described transportation nerd, look no further than her effort to get up early on a Sunday morning to take the first ride of the new Toronto streetcars!
With a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and a Masters of Science from University College London, Elise knows how to sell sustainability to a business audience. At UrbanTrans, Elise has been leading a series of pilot projects for Metrolinx’s Smart Commute program. They involve navigating new ideas and taking an individualized marketing approach to TDM. As a result, our team has streamlined a process for creating customized commute plans. She has inspired teen-aged staff at a ski hill to use an app to “check in” to their local bus stop and dozens of municipal employees have taken up carpooling in a workplace competition.
When she’s not being a transit nerd, she spends her free time swimming, exploring Toronto’s street festivals, comedy clubs and restaurants and is involved in Toronto’s incredible environmental scene.
